CAGED

To bind them in a place, limited

For whom is the sky unlimited,

With the might of men,

They are caged, feed them the best,

But for them the un-caged are privileged!

Wash their cage every day,

Water anew in the cup every day,

Best of the things served to eat,

But they would love the outside heat.

When free, the dust of the air,

Dirty water from anywhere,

With pride they’ll bear.

With the might of men,

They are caged, keep them in the best,

But for them the un-caged are privileged!

They flutter their wings in the cage,

Who cage them act sage!

I am a silent witness like others,

To their barbarous act from an age.

I desire to help them find a door ajar some day,

But what grips me is the stinking social bay.
